Discover the fantastic Cinque Terre’s landscape and it’s National Park a UNESCO world heritage. Explore the charming villages .

Day 1: Independent arrival Levanto, check into your hotel. Time to explore the Town Centre. Overnight

Day 2  First walk takes you along the coast to Monterosso al Mare. First up towards Punta Mesco, Time for picnic lunch. a small detour to the ruins of an old 11th century hermitage. Follow a fairly steep path down into Monterosso, Time to explore the town and local train back to Levanto. Or option  to walk back following inland forested path to reach behind the castle of Levanto. Overnight Total walking time: around 3,5 hours + sightseeing time (4-5 hours with extra option).

Day 3:  Today’s walk goes along the beach, and up and down hills to the seaside village of Bonassola. On to the small ‘village’ of Framura, an aggregation of scattered hamlets on the hillside. A steep deep descend you reach Deiva Marina (option to continue to Moneglia or even Sestri Levante) through charming  little villages. Train back to Levanto if you wish to shorten walk.  Overnight

Day 4:  Today Train to Riomaggiore, Then you walk the coastal walk, part is the famous ‘Sentiero del’Amore’ (‘Lover’s Walk’). First Manarola. Head up the steps to the hamlet of Volastra, walk to Corniglia. Through terraced vineyards you approach Vernazza, via a narrow track to a fairly steep descent. Train back to Riomaggiore  and overnight. Total walking time:  3,5 hours

Day 5: Today walk inland  to the churches of Madonna di Reggio and  di Saviore. Train to Vernazza,walk along the coast to Monterosso; short break and climb up to the sanctuary di Saviore. Relax, lunch and on to the next Sanctuary Madonna di Reggio. Descend to  Vernazza. Overnight Riomaggiore. Total walking time: around 4,5 hours + sightseeing time.

Day 6: Walk from Riomaggiore, to Campiglia and Portovenere, hike up a long flight of stairs, continuing uphill, coastal cliffs, terraced vineyards, and pass through Campiglia. Rest stop and to Portovenere before a long staircase into the heart of the village. There is time to visit the charming village and Punta San Pietro, before returning to Riomaggiore by boat. Overnight Riomaggiore. Total walking time: around 4,5 hours + sightseeing time (5,5 hours with extra option).

Day 7: End of the tour.

Tip: Best period to hike this area of Italy March to June & September to October. Cinque Terre footpaths are narrow and often very steep. You need to be fit to explore this area of Italy.

Note:  At times due to problems along the paths, the day walks may be subject to change. A large variety of alternative panoramic walks and trails are available.

Foot Paths & Way-marking: Most paths are maintained. At times some can get
overgrown. We inform local authorities to keep paths clean.
